Constant Contact® First Email Marketing Company to Provide Ironport's Bonded Sender to Small Businesses
Agreement Improves Deliverability Rates of Permission-Based Email for Small Business
Waltham, MA - May 12, 2004 -- Constant Contact, the leading permission Do-It-Yourself Email Marketing service for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and associations, today announced it is the first SME Reseller of IronPort Systems Bonded Sender Program, (http://www.bondedsender.com/). The Bonded Sender Program, powered by IronPort and certified by TRUSTe, identifies legitimate senders of email based on their adherence to program standards and the posting of a financial bond. Constant Contact customers who qualify for the Bonded Sender Program will benefit from increased deliverability rates of permission-based email.
Under the terms of the agreement, Constant Contact will post the financial bond on behalf of its small business customers, then certify those customers who meet program requirements for a small annual fee. In addition to better deliverability rates for permission-based email, qualifying customers will receive the Bonded Sender "seal of approval" for the exceptional emailing record that is required to attain this valuable status.
"We want to ensure that small businesses are part of the unfolding solution to the spam problem and there's no better way of doing that than providing access to Bonded Sender," said Margaret Olson, CTO for Constant Contact and co-technology chair of the Email Sender and Provider Coalition. "As technology solutions to the spam problem continue to evolve, Constant Contact will work closely with industry leading companies like IronPort and important organizations like the Email Sender and Provider Coalition to protect and advance the interests of small businesses."
"With Constant Contact acting as an agent on our behalf, we can now afford to apply for Bonded Sender," said Michael Katz, Founder Blue Penguin Development. "It's great to be rewarded for having a clean email marketing record - a reward that will impact our bottom line by allowing us to reach more customers."
Bonded Senders meet the highest standards of email quality and build their brand by communicating their Bonded Sender status to email administrators and customers. The Bonded Sender Program also ensures that messages from Bonded Senders get delivered to 28,000 ISPs, corporations and universities (representing over 230 million mailboxes). The Bonded Sender Program currently keeps half a million legitimate messages a day from accidentally being sent to the bulk folder.
"Constant Contact's established infrastructure and experience in helping its customers maintain the highest standards in email quality will ultimately help contribute to the success of our Bonded Sender Program," said Tom Gillis, Senior Vice President, Worldwide Marketing at IronPort. "IronPort is committed to rebuilding email infrastructure and finding solutions to spam and virus problems. Our agreement with Constant Contact helps us achieve that goal."
